Our natural way of living led to us raising chickens in 2011. Chickens were not new to me though, I had them as a kid. I had gone may years without farm fresh eggs and just had to have them again. So, I decided on a few breeds and ordered chicks through my local feed store. That was the day that my obsession was born, despite my husbands best efforts. In addition to those lovely farm fresh eggs, I love the challenge of perfecting chicken breeds and the science of genetics! After trying several different breeds of chickens, I have settled with two very good duel purpose breeds and a fun blue egg layer all in the lavender color!
